BEAUTYCOUNTER...products that are gentle, effective and safe

Every once in awhile I'm given some new products to try, usually it's a makeup line but this time
it was a skin care line that is soon to carry it's own makeup line. BEAUTYCOUNTER , is the first
to have a unique ingredient selection process. They eliminate over a thousand commonly used ingredients right off the bat because of concerns about their effects on people's long-term health.
They have created a line of luxurious skin-care products that are not only free of parabens but also free of other toxins. The company won't put anything in it's products that hasn't been tested, and it bans 1,500 plus  contested chemicals. You can learn more about the company and shop for their products by going to their website, corina.beautycounter.com.

The Products that I'm using (and loving!):
This is so gentle yet it removes waterproof eye makeup!  I use it with my Clarisonic Mia Brush.

Routine Clean Cream Cleanser, $22

The Perfect day cream. Can be used under or over your sunscreen.
Everyday AM Hydrating Cream, $22

RoseWater, $32

Spray this on as a makeup setter ( is that a word?) or right before you put on your Everyday Moisturizer.

Lip Sheer in Coral, $28
This Color lipstick is perfect for my bridal clientele.  Plus, it doesn't dry out your lips.  I like to put my own Super Gloss in Super Nectar over it.

From Wedding to Pregnancy to New Baby!

In April of 2010, I first met Ana at the trial run I did for her June 2010 wedding. She brought her dog, Sawyer who I fell in love with instantly. He set a nice, relaxed atmosphere and it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I had a great time doing her wedding at her lovely house in Beverly Hills. Two years later, Ana recommended me to her friend Sylviya to do her wedding. Then, when Ana became pregnant, Ana called me to do her pregnancy photos and again to do her photos once Evan was born. Here are the photos from each event ( minus the trial run).

The Advantages of Booking Your Trial Run With Me

Once you’ve selected your gown, it’s time to start thinking about hair and makeup. You might want to put a file together of various looks that you’d like to try, keeping in mind your hair length and texture. I suggest we meet to discuss these looks and do a trial run.
In terms of makeup, the questions I ask brides are:
1. What time of day is your ceremony?
2. Is it indoors or outdoors?
3. What colors do you prefer?
4. Do you think you’d like a natural look or something a little more
glamorous?
After each look is completed, I take digital photos that I print for you so that you can decide what you like or don’t like. This also gives you an idea of how the look photographs which is especially helpful for those of you who don’t regularly wear much makeup. We can talk about any changes and I’ll know how much time to allow and plan accordingly.  The trial run usually takes anywhere from 2 to 3 hours.  I hold them at my house where there's great, natural light and plenty of room. The rate for the trial run is $175. Call  or email me to schedule your trial run today, 818-786-0422 or betsy@betsymh.com.

Here are some recent before and afters  of trial runs I've done recently:

The New French Manicure

Stephanie Stone, Nail Stylist

On May1st, I attended the Urban Unveiled Bridal Show at the gorgeous Vibiana,
presented by California Wedding Day magazine. On the way out I was given a
copy of the magazine and came upon a piece entitled, "The New French Manicure"
with this beautiful picture of the look by nail stylist, Stephanie Stone of Nailing
Hollywood Management, Inc. She says, " A nude to white ombre nail is chic yet
simplistic enough  to complement your wedding ring without outshining it."  A-men
I say to that! Hopefully this will put an end to the squared off and harsh lines of the
                       ubiquitous, current French manicures.
